It's Official!

I finally got the courage to post what I wrote a couple of months ago:

I have been keeping a secret a long time especially since it didn't seem real to me. It has been a lot of work and there is still more work to do!

I have made the decision to open a small local cloth diaper store. There are a lot of reasons I decided to do this. One reason is that I felt I needed a separation between work and family and wasn't able to do this at home. The other reason is that I wanted to have somewhere people could go to touch and feel and learn about cloth diapers. No more parading people through my house and into my unfinished basement!

So I found a small space in a decent location with affordable and flexible rent. I have been working to get it painted and set up and it has taken me a lot longer than I thought especially with sick kids this past little while. I hope to have some before and after pictures up soon.

I haven't completely decided when I will be open and for what hours and would love some input on that! I will definitely be using it as my office and showroom, but I would like to be open at the very least once a month for a class or group meet up. I would like to also teach a cloth diaper sewing class. Then I would set a day probably once a week for local pickups etc.

So what do you think? Is my idea a little crazy? It probably is, but I am going for it and we'll see what happens!:)

Oh and in case you are wondering, Komfy Kidz is the name I started out doing business with when I first started sewing and selling cloth diapers.  I think it will be a good name to use as I expand to other products.

I'll post pictures of the inside with before and after soon! I have big plans for the outside, and I'm going to sew curtains for the front door, paint...

Open by appointment, or see the event calendar for hours.   Call me! @ 208.745.6268

Here's a picture my husband took of me in front of the store.  I know it's a little crooked, sorry.
